July 2026
We are excited to announce the opening of the Hsu Laboratory of Neutrophil Biology at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in July 2026.
The Hsu Lab studies how neutrophils regulate inflammation, tissue repair, immune aging, and host defense. Our research integrates immunology, cell biology, extracellular vesicle biology, and disease models to uncover fundamental mechanisms that govern immune homeostasis across health and disease.
A major focus of the laboratory is understanding how aging neutrophils continue to influence immunity through the production of extracellular vesicles, including Large Aging Neutrophil-Derived Vesicles (LAND-Vs), a recently identified vesicle population that regulates complement activation and inflammation resolution.
As we establish the laboratory, we are actively building research programs in:
Inflammation resolution and tissue repair
Extracellular vesicle biology and LAND-Vs
Immune aging and inflammaging
Neutrophil migration and cell signaling
Infection and host defense
Membrane biology and regulated cell death
We look forward to developing new collaborations across Singapore and the international scientific community while training the next generation of scientists in immunology and cell biology.
Researchers interested in collaboration or joining the laboratory are encouraged to contact us through the Hsu Lab website.
Welcome to the Hsu Lab.
